VR6 - All engines, 3.2 and 3.6, all model years are driven by timing CHAIN. There is no timing belt in these engines. There is NO specified interval for replacing the chain / no prevenative replacement required. V8 2004-2006 - 40 valve engine ONLY - these are timing BELT driven. Recommended belt replacement interval is 80,000 miles ~ 128,000kms
The oil should be changed no longer than 5000 mile intervals. Q5/SQ5 MKI (8R) Discussion - 2013 Q5 2.0 Timing Chain Issues - I recently had to replace the timing chain on my 2013 Q5 2.0. It's is in very good condition and just recently crossed 70k miles. My research has led me to few answers as to why the timing chain had worn out so badly.
The timing chains in Hyundai i30 are known to last very well as long as service and oil changes are handled. If you hear a rattling sound from a motor with a timing chain, it may be a sign that the chain needs to be replaced. Consult a mechanic if you hear a strange engine noise, especially if it is a rattling sound.

I have had my a4 in the shop for 3 months waiting for piston replacement under the oil consumption class action. I thought they were suppose to last longer than 67,000 miles.
The Audi / VW timing chain saga eventually went to the courts and in June 2018 a settlement was agreed covering a number of vehicles. As part of the settlement, 2011-2012 Q5 vehicles were given an extended “new vehicle limited warranty” to cover future repairs or replacements of the timing chains and tensioners.
